Video Project Pro (VPP) is scheduling and client-to-cash software for video production businesses. This page explains what the VPP Google Calendar connection does, what access it requests, and how to connect or disconnect it. Questions go to a real person: support@videoprojectpro.com.
Your Google Calendar is VPP's availability source. When a client opens one of your booking pages, VPP checks your connected calendar and only offers times you are free. Bookings made through VPP are written to your calendar, and Google Meet links are generated for calls so the invite carries its own meeting. Shoot days scheduled in VPP can land on your calendar the same way, so the crew schedule and your personal calendar stay in step.
Connecting Google Calendar grants VPP four scopes, listed here in plain language:
Confirms who you are when you sign in with Google. It creates no access to your data by itself.
Reads the email address on your Google account so VPP can show you which account is connected in settings.
Reads only busy/free time blocks — the times you are marked Busy. It never reads event titles, descriptions, attendees, or locations.
Creates and updates the calendar events for your VPP bookings and shoot days, so invites reach you and your crew.
For checking availability, VPP reads only busy/free blocks — never event titles, descriptions, attendees, or locations. Your client never sees why a slot is gone, only that it is not offered. The calendar.events scope is limited to events VPP creates for your bookings and shoot days; VPP does not read or modify your other events.
When a booking that uses Google Meet is created, VPP asks Google to attach a Meet link to the calendar event it creates for that booking. The link lands in the client's confirmation email and the calendar invite. Rescheduling the booking updates the event; cancelling it removes the event and its link.
Separately from the Google connection, VPP lets you paste an iCal / ICS calendar feed URL. This is a direct download of a feed address you provide — it does not use the Google connection, any Google token, or Google's API. Because iCal feeds carry full event data by design, the event titles and details from those feeds do display inside VPP. Use the feed option for calendars you cannot connect directly; use the Google connection when you can, and keep in mind it exposes only busy/free blocks.
This revokes the token and deletes the stored credentials from VPP.
You can also revoke access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. VPP deletes its stored credentials for your account when Google notifies us of the revocation.
Confirm the calendar is still connected under Calendar → Connections and reconnect if authorization expired. Make sure the external event is marked Busy rather than Free, and that it falls within the hours you set on the booking calendar.
Disconnect from Calendar → Connections, sign out of the wrong account in your browser, then connect again with the right one.
Reconnecting is safe — future bookings and shoot days sync again. Existing records in VPP are untouched.
