Zoom integration

Video Project Pro (VPP) is scheduling and client-to-cash software for video production businesses. This page explains exactly what the VPP Zoom integration does, what access it requests, and how to connect or disconnect it. If anything here is unclear, email support@videoprojectpro.com — a real person answers.

What this integration does

Every call booked through a VPP booking page automatically gets its own private Zoom meeting. The join link is included in the booking confirmation email and the calendar invite. Rescheduling the booking moves the meeting; cancelling it deletes the meeting. Each booking gets a unique meeting link, so a previous client can never join a later call.

What VPP accesses, and what it does not

Connecting Zoom grants VPP exactly four scopes, listed here in plain language:

user:read:user

Identifies which Zoom account is connected. The account email is shown to you in VPP's settings so you can confirm the right one is linked.

meeting:read:meeting

Reads details of meetings VPP created — for example to update the invite when a booking is rescheduled.

meeting:write:meeting

Creates a meeting when a client books a call through one of your VPP booking pages.

meeting:update:meeting

Updates or deletes that meeting when you reschedule or cancel the booking in VPP.

VPP does not access meeting content, participants, chat, recordings, or any meeting it did not create. VPP can only read and manage the meetings it generates for your own bookings.

How to connect

  1. Sign in to Video Project Pro.
  2. Go to Calendar → Connections.
  3. Click Connect Zoom account.
  4. Authorize VPP on Zoom's consent screen.
  5. Confirm the connected account email appears in VPP.

How bookings work once connected

A client picks a slot on your branded booking page. VPP creates the Zoom meeting for that slot, and the join link lands in the client's confirmation email and the calendar invite. If you reschedule the booking, VPP moves the meeting to the new time. If the booking is cancelled, VPP deletes the meeting. Nobody retypes a Zoom link, and no two bookings ever share one.

Calendar and meeting location are separate

Your calendar connection (Google Calendar) determines availability — it is what blocks times you are already busy. Zoom only supplies the meeting link; it holds no availability data. To take bookings with Zoom meetings, connect a calendar for availability and connect Zoom for the link. Each connection can be added or removed independently.

How to disconnect

  1. Go to Calendar → Connections.
  2. Click Disconnect on the Zoom card.

This revokes the token with Zoom and deletes the stored credentials from VPP, so nothing further can be created or updated on your Zoom account.

You can also remove the app from your side: go to zoom.us → Settings → Installed Apps and remove Video Project Pro. When Zoom notifies us, VPP deletes its stored credentials for your account.

Troubleshooting

Zoom meeting not created on a booking

Check that Zoom is still connected under Calendar → Connections — if authorization expired, reconnect it. Bookings made while Zoom was disconnected do not get meetings retroactively; you can add the link manually from the appointment.

Connected the wrong Zoom account

Disconnect from Calendar → Connections, sign out of the wrong Zoom account in your browser, then connect again and authorize the correct one.

Reconnecting after disconnecting

Reconnecting is safe — it re-authorizes VPP and future bookings get Zoom links again. Existing bookings are untouched.
